About the Authors
Professor Yale Li (Li Yuhang) is a renowned strategist in digital technology, celebrated for his visionary leadership and contributions to the field. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) and serves as the Chairman of the Cloud Security Alliance Greater China Region (CSA GCR). With over 30 years of experience in global digital technology, cybersecurity, and information security, Professor Li has held influential leadership roles across the industry.
His professional journey includes over 15 years at Microsoft Corporation in the United States, where he served as the Global Chief Security Architect and held other senior positions. He has also worked as the International Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Huawei Technologies and as the Chief Technology Architect at IBM Global Services.
Professor Li has been recognized for his academic contributions, having been elected as a Foreign Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences (UAES). He has held esteemed academic appointments, including Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Practice Professor at Zhejiang University, and Graduate Supervisor at the University of Washington.
In addition to his professional achievements, Professor Li has provided strategic cybersecurity guidance to numerous heads of state and governments. He is the author of over a dozen influential books in both English and Chinese, including “Microsoft 360°: Enterprise and Culture”, “Cloud Computing 360°: An In-depth Look at the Cloud Era”, and “Enabling the New Era of Cloud Computing: Data Security, Transfer, and Management”.
Throughout his career, Professor Li has received numerous prestigious awards, such as the UNIDO Scientific and Technological Innovation Advancement Award, the International Cybersecurity Leader Award, and the Big Data Technology Communication Award.
His Excellency Amb. Prof. Muhammadou M.O. Kah is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Republic of the Gambia to the Swiss confederation & Permanent Representative to the UN Offices at Geneva(UNOG), World Trade Organization (WTO), and other international organizations at Switzerland.
He served as Chairman of the Africa Group of Ambassadors at Geneva (April 2021- Sept. 2021); Vice President (Africa) for the UN Human Rights Council (2022 and 2023); Vice Chairman of the 34th International Conference of the ICRC; Current Chairman for UN Commission on Science and Technology Development (CSTD); Chairman, World Intellectual Property (WIPO ) 9th & 10th Session High -Level Conversation on IP and Frontier Technologies /AI; Founding Board Member Health AI( The Global Agency for Responsible Health AI; Co-Facilitator of the UN Human Rights Council on Data and AI, New technologies, digital divide and Human Rights, and a member of the Advisory Board of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Bureau (TDB) (June 2021-July 2023). Amb. Prof. Kah served as one of two Ambassadors designated as Friends of the Chair of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) General Assembly on the Design Law Treaty (DLT) and served as one of the Vice Chairs of the General Assembly of WIPO.
Formerly, he served as Vice Chancellor of The University of The Gambia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Provost, and Professor of IT and Computing at the American University of Nigeria, Founding Dean ,School of Engineering and Information Technology and Vice Rector For Technology and Innovation, ADA University, Baku,Azerbaijan; served as a faculty member at Howard, Rutgers, George Washington University (Adjunct); American University of Sharjah, American University of Nigéria, ADA University etc. Founding Chairman of the Zenith Bank in the Gambia. He is also a member of the Malabo Montpellier Panel and Visiting Professor (Non-resident), University of Johannesburg.
Completing his BSc, MSc. and Ph.D. at the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, one of
the top engineering and technology management universities in the USA, Amb. Prof. Kah was awarded an Honorary Doctoral Degree- Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the University of The Gambia a year after he completed his tenure as Vice Chancellor/Rector of The University. He also holds a Master of Science in Finance (Financial Engineering) from George Washington University, Washington, DC and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and innovation (DiPSI )from Said Business School, University of Oxford,UK.
