- About the Authors
Rust has revolutionized modern development by providing unmatched performance and security guarantees, making it the ideal foundation for building reliable web applications. While its development has not slowed down the slightest, it already has a vibrant ecosystem to support diverse developer needs.
Readers will learn to build minimalist test applications to try out frameworks, but also a full-featured concept application around the topic of ticket management. This book will walk through a regular development cycle from design to implementation, through containerization, deployment, and even expanding the application. It will help you design a complete architecture with database, caching and security, and implement its own frontend using Rust’s WebAssembly support.
By the end of this book, you will transition from a beginner to a proficient Rust developer, capable of building, securing, and deploying enterprise-grade web services. You will be able to decide what technologies to use, when and also how. Alongside coding, this book will provide you with enough experience to write your own applications in Rust and make them fit the current industry standards.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
● Web development in Rust and setting up your coding environment.

Viktor Daróczi is currently working as a senior software developer for a leading European internet specialist, United Internet. His professional career encompasses several key areas in web development over more than 15 years. He started developing custom content management systems tailor-made for education websites and research projects. He took part in the e-commerce revolution, implementing a food delivery platform and an online presence management solution for small businesses. The applications he has been developing were internationalized from the beginning, and made available in several European countries in parallel, including Germany, Austria, and Ireland, while also growing to be one of the most successful internet-based businesses in Central Europe. After relocating to Germany, he started to work for Testbirds, where they developed a software as a service solution for quality assurance, offering crowd and cloud testing services. Later he worked for a joint venture of Bosch, ABB and Cisco to develop an interoperability platform for the Internet of Things. His career continued in yet another area of web development: advertising. During this period, he developed frontend-heavy mini games applied as mobile ads that have been providing actionable audience data in high volumes. As the penultimate stage in his career, he dived into the finance sector as a senior developer and module owner of two high-demand applications responsible for conveying hundreds of thousands of SEPA transactions between merchants and Santander Bank.
