- About the Authors
Artificial intelligence is redefining the digital backbone of our world. As data demands explode and connectivity becomes intelligent, networks are no longer passive pipelines; rather, they are evolving into dynamic, self-learning ecosystems that sense, decide, and adapt in real time. This transformation marks the beginning of a new era where AI is not just an enabler but the foundation of modern organizational infrastructure, AI security, and automated collaboration.
The book guides the readers through how networks can think, heal, and evolve. It also includes real-world examples that reveal how AIOps, digital twins, and predictive analytics transform connectivity into a living, learning system, one that continuously optimizes performance, resilience, and trust.
By the end, readers will gain a clear framework for assessing AI readiness, implementing intelligent network strategies, and managing emerging risks with confidence. They will understand how to build and sustain adaptive, secure, and future-ready infrastructures, equipping themselves to lead their organizations through the AI-powered revolution already reshaping our connected world.

Scott Andersen is a nationally recognized technology strategist and one of the world’s most accomplished enterprise architects, with over three decades of leadership in cloud transformation, AI strategy, and large-scale IT modernization. Currently serving as a distinguished architect and DHS CTO for Verizon Public Sector, Scott has designed and implemented critical systems across federal and state agencies, guiding the modernization of infrastructure for organizations such as DHS, the U.S. Coast Guard, ICE, FEMA, and the U.S. Treasury.
A pioneer in enterprise architecture, Scott was among the first 100 professionals globally to earn the Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) credential. He became the first person in the world to receive the Professional Certified IT Architect (CITA-P) certification from IASA Global. His thought leadership extends across the technology community as a Federal Equinix Ambassador, a subject matter expert in cloud, AI, and enterprise applications, and a prolific author and speaker who has contributed to more than 25 industry articles and appeared on Federal News Radio, Equinix Expert Corner, and other national technology platforms.
At Verizon, Scott has been instrumental in developing groundbreaking solutions such as the Verizon Secure Cloud Fabric (VSCF), Zero Trust/SASE integration frameworks, and hybrid cloud security architectures for AWS and Azure. His strategic design efforts have generated multi-million-dollar revenue streams and transformed how public sector clients leverage secure, cloud-native, and AI-enabled network infrastructures. He also serves on Verizon’s Corporate Volunteer Committee and is the creator of the company’s internal AI Newsletter and AI Training Program, promoting responsible adoption of artificial intelligence within enterprise environments.
Before joining Verizon, Scott held senior architecture and leadership roles at CSRA/GDIT, Accenture, CGI, Unisys, Lockheed Martin, and Microsoft, where his innovations shaped global standards in cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and enterprise migration. While at Microsoft, his team designed the world’s most successful Lotus Domino to Exchange migration system, driving more than $1 billion in net revenue and modernizing communications for global enterprises.
As an accomplished author, Scott blends technical depth with storytelling to make complex innovations approachable. He continues to lead at the intersection of AI, cloud architecture, and human-centered innovation, driving what he calls the age of intelligent infrastructure.
