About the Authors
Corbin L. Miller is a senior software engineer and founder of his own mobile development firm, bringing extensive experience in iOS development, Windows applications, and embedded firmware. Born in California and raised in Idaho, Corbin developed an early passion for technology, beginning his programming journey as a teenager on an Apple IIc. This interest led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from U.C. San Diego, where he developed a strong foundation in software development and systems architecture. He also earned a minor in business economics.
His early endeavors focused on games and graphics, including MPEG editors, before transitioning into medical, financial, and personal applications. Over the years, Corbin has designed, developed, and optimized high-performance mobile applications, mastering Swift, Objective-C, and cross-platform frameworks to create scalable and intuitive software solutions. Before mobile applications became mainstream, he developed software solutions for oncology systems and radiation therapy.
As a full stack developer, Corbin has worked with large international corporations and developed a diverse range of independent applications. His expertise spans all aspects of mobile development, with a specialization in Bluetooth and hardware integration, internationalization, UX implementation, front-end design, test design, and porting software from other languages into Swift. He has spent a significant portion of his career working in Switzerland and Asia, collaborating with diverse engineering teams and adapting to global software trends.
Staying ahead of industry advancements, Corbin actively explores emerging technologies, including machine learning, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and intelligent analytics in mobile applications. He is passionate about integrating these technologies into real-world applications to enhance user experience and drive innovation.
Beyond engineering, Corbin enjoys international travel, reading, writing, Japanese art, and the global financial derivatives markets.
